The fitness industry has us all bluffed. I’m talkng specifically about the muscle building side of fitness. These bozos, or gurus, as they call themselves, sell us on a pipedream of acheiving extraordinary results when the reality is that while the vast majority of us want the body of a Greek God, most of us fail miserably at getting it.
Well the bulk of the blame has to fall on us as individuals. We buy the crap they sell and when I say buy, I mean we fall for the hyped up B.S they sprout on television, magazines and online.
The meatheads selling this fitness industry crap hire copywriters to write advertisements to tap into our inner most desires.
Here is an example of an email I got this morning. I almost spat out my weeties when reading the garbage they spruik.
Fitness Industry Emails Selling Crap Programs
Let’s start from the beginning.
The subject of the email was “Annihilate Unwanted Body Fat”
I do not want to “Annihilate” anything or anybody. I am a lover, not a fighter and merely saying the word conjures up images of dictatorship regimes waging war against anyone that does not subscribe to their ethos.
Guys, how about the word “Lose”? Oh, that’s right. The word “lose” doesn’t incite strong enough feelings inside us and rush to click on the Buy Now button.
Now look at the picture of the photo shopped guy looking all “ripped”. It asks “Are You Tough Enough …”. Mind your business. And while we are at it, don’t question my resolve or committment to get a job done.
Next we have these pearls. You ready?
- Torch Fat
- Carve Your Abs
- Chisel Your Arms & Shoulders
Is it just me or do you envisage standing there holding a fire thrower underneath your protruding stomach to “torch” fat? Does scoring lines across your stomach with a butchers knife “carve” abs? Gimme a break you lunatics.
I have saved the best for last. Read the rest of the crap and you will come across words such as:
- strip away
- build powerful
- bulletproof steam engine
- taking it to the max
Here is the bottom line put it it’s simplest form.
If you want to lose weight or get fit or feel better about yourself don’t buy rubbish like this. You are simply throwing away money.
Here is the profoundly undeniable truth about losing weight in 3 steps.
- Eat Less Than What You Eat Now
- Cut Back On The Crap – And we all know what that is
- Do Some Form of Movement

Are you getting enough protein to build muscle? What about to lose weight? New research might surprise you.
For example, if you’re not eating at least .73 grams of protein per pound of body weight — about 130 grams for the average 180-pound guy — you’re leaving gains in the weight room.
In an analysis of 49 studies with 1863 participants, researchers from McMaster University found that this amount of protein supplementation increased both strength and muscle size in people who regularly lifted weights. But here’s the kicker: Consuming more than .73 grams per pound didn’t lead to greater gains!
What’s more, fitness industry research also shows that eating protein actually increases the rate your body builds new proteins — a.k.a. muscle. But the amount matters there, too: Consuming, say, 20 grams at a sitting ramps up this process, but the effect maxes out at 30 grams. Eating more than that doesn’t provide greater benefit.
The lesson: You want to strive for at least 30 grams of protein at each meal — breakfast, lunch and dinner — and have a snack that provides another 30 grams of protein. While it’s pretty easy to get that amount at dinner — most people eat the majority of their daily protein at their evening meal — finding snacks that will get you there is a lot harder, especially if you’re busy.
That’s where protein supplements come in.
What’s all this have to do with weight loss? Two things.
1. The better your body is at building muscle, the more of it you’ll retain as you lose weight. That helps ensure all of your weight loss is from fat, instead of eating away at some of your metabolism-boosting muscle.
2. Protein is satiating, meaning it helps satisfy your appetite and keeps it bay after you eat. The result: You aren’t as hungry, even when you eat fewer calories.
Want to add an easy-to-make and delicious protein shake to your daily diet? We have just the thing: A one-pound bag of Creamy Vanilla (our most requested flavor) Isopure Protein and a complimentary Grab-and-Go Shaker Bottle.
This product is 100% whey protein isolate — which has been filtered to a greater extent than whey protein concentrate, limiting both carbs and fat, and also making it easier to mix. All to help you build more muscle and lose fat easier. What could be better than that?
